First Sound was founded in 1989 by Emmanuel Go. An avid audiophile, he undertook an extensive research & development effort to push the limits of passive preamplifier design.
The First Sound Reference Quality Passive Preamplifier was born. Now regarded as the benchmark of passive design, it became the foundation for the Linestage I.
The success of the First Sound passive unit stemmed from a core philosophy: the purest possible signal produces the most authentic sound. This principle is carried into the craftsmanship of the Linestage I and continues to guide First Sound’s meticulous approach to design and execution.
Philosophy
The First Sound Passive Preamplifier began earning its reputation among a select group of discerning audiophiles. As the boundaries of passive design became clear, the next step was a natural evolution: the Linestage I was created.
It was a daunting endeavor from the onset, given that the Linestage I would be measured against the First Sound Passive, which had established a new level of audio purity that embodied sound in its most natural presence.
The challenge was clear: create an active linestage that upholds the unmistakable quality of a passive. The Linestage I realizes that vision.
